Dawn Foods expands its baked items footprint in Canada

Dawn Foods has acquired an Ardent Mills component blend facility in Burlington, Ont. To take over the candy component enterprise and enlarge its Canadian attain.

Ardent Mills will hold to supply flour to this facility below Dawn’s ownership. “This jointly beneficial acquisition lets us step away from candy aspect mixes and give attention to flour and savory mixes,” stated Dan Dye, CEO of Ardent Mills. “Our group members and customers in Canada can be nicely taken care of by Dawn, and we’re committed to a smooth transition.” The deal between Ardent Mills and Dawn Foods closed on June 21, 2019.

Ardent Mills’ operations and offerings are supported via forty flour turbines and bakery-blend facilities and a strong point bakery and Mobile Innovation Center, located within the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

As referred to earlier, along with making bread, baking is used to make desserts, cookies, crackers, pastries, pies, pretzels, puddings, quiches, scones, tarts, and plenty of greater. Collectively, they’re known as ‘baked goods and can be observed at maximum bakeries that use traditional and current baking techniques. In addition to those categories of meals, meat and meat products can also be baked; however, those are generally baked where the meats are used as stuffing protected with a crust of bread or dough.

Some dairy merchandise, like cheeses and eggs, can also be baked or used as cooking mediums for baking other food objects. Other foods, including apples, beans, and potatoes, can also be baked; elements such as these are commonly observed in casseroles, lasagna, and pasta.

Methods and Techniques

There are numerous techniques of baking that in large part depend upon the type of food being cooked. The usage of the baking method may cook all sorts of meals; however, a few types may additionally require mild adjustments from primary baking strategies to shield the food and make it retain its natural flavors, which otherwise may also get burnt or overcooked. However, this technique is more appropriate for finer meat cuts, so other techniques to cook harder meat have come approximately. One of these methods is the popular ‘en route, which means “in a crust” in French, wherein the beef or vegetable is sealed in a cowl of pastry or dough and cooked slowly so that the flavors and herbal juices of the meals remain intact.
