If you are inside the temper for an ice cream cake but do not want to spend quite a little prep time in the kitchen, this recipe takes the cake! You can use alternative sherbet or sorbet for the ice cream for an exceptional variant.
- 1 (10-inch) angel food cake
- half of a gallon of any flavor of ice cream
- Directions
Let ice cream take a seat at the counter awhile until it softens sufficiently where you may spread it without problems (do not permit it to soften).
Pull angel food cake into 2-inch chunks. Layer the cake chunks on the lowest of a 9-inch or 10-inch tube pan. With a massive knife, unfold a layer of the softened ice cream over the cake chunks. Add any other layer of cake on top of the ice cream. Keep repeating the layers until you’ve got used up all the cake and ice cream.
Put the cake into the freezer and freeze for two to 3 hours. Before serving, carefully take the cake out of the pan and place it on a serving dish. Top with your favored sundae sauce.

Ice cream is one of the traditional treats during warm weather. When we talk about it, we feel it as an icy mixture of cream, milk, sugar, and flavorings. Making ice cream is generally a laborious and slow process, with several issues about protecting from bacteria and having the custard right. However, with this method, the ingredient becomes smooth, mellifluous, and can be prepared easily without gums, stabilizers, and emulsifiers.
