Chen Liu opened Hunan Kitchen at 20702 Katy Freeway South in March 2018 after operating in Houston’s Energy Corridor.
Originally from the Chinese windfall of Hunan, she stated she observed that there were only some eating places in the Katy location that provided a menu of proper Chinese flavors. “I opened the restaurant because I understand there are quite a few Chinese humans right here, and there are quite a few electricity companies, and that they do a whole lot of international enterprise,” Liu said. “And they can’t locate exact Chinese meals in this area.”
Although Liu has by no means owned or worked in a restaurant earlier than cooking is her passion, she stated. However, managing the eating place has not been smooth, she said. “Six restaurants had been out of commercial enterprise in the Katy area at the end of last year,” Liu stated. “Competition in Katy is fierce. … [And] we’re inclined to listen to any comments from clients.”
Liu stated that Hunan Kitchen serves unique recipes via a chef with more than two decades of revel cooking in China. The menu gives Hunan-, Sichuan-, and American-style Chinese dishes. “Most Chinese human beings are available, and they like us due to the fact we will make the flavor they want or are used to,” she said. “People have informed me, ‘We don’t need to travel to Bellaire to get Chinese meals.’”
Hunan Kitchen primarily serves two forms of visitors, Liu stated. The first are vacationers who have lived or been to China and realize the flavors. The 2nd are the ones who have never visited China and want to try genuine cuisine.
One of her favorite aspects of the eating place is educating visitors approximately proper Chinese delicacies, she said. To encourage guests to try new dishes, Liu said the eating place gives small complementary plates to flavor. Usually spicy, the dishes can be adjusted, she stated.
“The contents of dishes are quite simple, but the taste is full,” Liu said. But do Chinese meals virtually deserve their healthful reputation? In particular, does it make contributions to lowering blood pressure and a healthy heart?
Leaving aside the issue of leisure for the moment (as hard as that is to do) allows us to look at the facts each for and opposition to Chinese food as wholesome ingesting. But, first, there are, in reality, a few crucial factors in its choice; allow us to study a few commonplace Chinese elements:
Ginger: This fragrant tuber/herb is ubiquitous in Chinese food, one of the 3 or four cornerstones of this cooking style. Ginger has long been prized as a fashionable tonic and stimulant. In addition, it offers a long list of medicinal advantages that include acting as a useful digestive resource and an anti-inflammatory.
More importantly, recent research reveals that ginger carries powerful compounds called “gingerols” that act to loosen up the walls of blood vessels. This, in turn, lets blood vessels dilate, and the stepped forward blood flow lowers blood pressure. In this way, ginger acts directly to influence our blood pressure in a wholesome manner.
