Whole Foods Sets Opening Date For New Hudson County Store

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The new Whole Foods supermarket in Weehawken officially opens on Friday, July 26.

Whole Foods Market stated that a variety of promotions are planned to have a good time the grand opening of its new, 32,000 square-foot Weehawken store, which is located at 1400 Waterfront Terrace in The Shops at Lincoln Harbor. “We can’t wait to sign up for the Weehawken network,” stated Jose Navas, shop crew leader.

Opening day celebrations will encompass complimentary Balthazar Bakery pastries and Café Grumpy coffee earlier than the shop opens. In addition, the first one hundred customers receive a Whole Foods Market reusable canvas tote bag. Shoppers will also be able to sample a collection of products from nearby suppliers on the first day and at the start of the weekend.

Also, five percent of the store’s internet income on the commencing day will benefit the Weehawken High School Culinary Initiative. When it is up and running, the Whole Foods Market shop in Weehawken will employ approximately 190 full-time and part-time crew members, the corporation stated.

Products from more than 150 nearby suppliers are featured throughout the store, such as in the beauty and frame care department

Roasting is used when large meat cuts must be cooked without a coating of dough or any stuffing, using shorter cooking time and higher temperature. However, this technique is more suitable for finer meat cuts, so other methods to cook tougher meat have come about. One of these methods is the popular ‘en route,’ meaning “in a crust” in French, where the meat or vegetable is sealed in a cover of pastry or dough and simmered so that the flavors and natural juices of the food remain intact.

Wild meats like venison are cooked in a variation of the ‘en route’ method by burying large pieces of meat coated with protective moist crust into a pit of hot coals or fire. This burnt crust is invariably discarded before consuming the meat.

The other method of protecting food from high heat and temperatures in the ‘en papillote’ means ‘in parchment.’ The food is wrapped in aluminum foil or baking paper before being put in the oven or fire. This way, the food retains its flavors and seasonings until it is ready to be served. In most restaurants, ‘en papillote’ food items are brought to the table with the foil cover intact so that the diner gets the element of surprise and the fabulous smell of the cooked dish.
